statement of intent

 

In my statement of intent, I will cover the use of media language, industry, audience and the representation within my front covers and the contents pages as well as the design and functionality of the website, all of which will follow the codes and conventions and would appeal to the target audience of film enthusiasts ranging from 16 to 25 years old. I intend for my products to be informative to those who will be reading it as well as being enjoyable as well. In the planning of this, it will include the drafts and final plans for both my website and my magazines as well as any research that I will have done in the process.

In the industry, the magazines that I will have designed would be bold enough to compete within the day-to-day competitiveness from major magazine and news companies. For example, the Bauer media publishing is in charge of some of the very high brand magazines such as cosmopolitan, empire and more. The magazines will be planned to follow the codes and conventions and would appeal to the audience. The magazine itself will be planned so that both the contents pages will have a similar design and layout as it will be following issues so it would make it so that it is seen as the next issue instead of having a different style and being mistaken for a different company.

The representation in my magazines would portray the audience in a positive light and would cater to their knowledge about films and make them more passionate about possible upcoming films which will create more revenue for those new films, and it would give them more of an audience. The media language within them would also have similar layouts and would have a stylish design to make the audience intrigued about the magazines which would be used with the call to arms which would be that on the content’s pages, there would be a subscription offer which would lead them to the website that would be made. On the content’s pages, the fonts for the name of the magazine, cinema news, is in Lucida calligraphy which is sophisticated but still fun as well and the colours are mainly black and white so that the writing can be seen on top of the pictures.

The website that I will be making will have a contents bar which I can use functionally and have a working home page and a working linked page which I’m thinking will be the movie page which I can involve the piece of recorded dialogue on. Both pages will have stories or news tabs that could be seen which will be either an extension of the ones on the magazine or similar to them. It will focus on movie sets and actors and actresses and more and I will be making the website in accordance with the magazines which will both have the direct link to each other as mentioned above.
